Formuler Z12 Ultra vs Z11 Pro Max: Which One Should You Buy in 2026?

Formuler Z12 Ultra vs Z11 Pro Max: Which One Should You Buy in 2026?

Short answer: the Formuler Z12 Ultra and the Formuler Z11 Pro Max BT1 share the same Realtek RTD1319C processor and 4 GB of RAM. The Z12 Ultra adds Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 128 GB of storage instead of 32 GB, Android 12 instead of Android 11, an optical audio output and the backlit GTV-BT3 remote. If you have a Dolby Vision TV, a Wi-Fi 6E router or want the most storage and the newest software, buy the Z12 Ultra. If you want the same processing power for less and an HDR10+ TV is all you have, the Z11 Pro Max BT1 is the better value.

What is actually different

1. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

This is the headline difference. The Z12 Ultra decodes Dolby Vision and passes Dolby Atmos to a compatible soundbar or receiver; the Z11 Pro Max tops out at HDR10+ and HLG. On an HDR10+-only TV the two boxes look the same. On an LG OLED, a Sony Bravia or any TV that advertises Dolby Vision, the Z12 Ultra can use the TV's full dynamic-metadata pipeline for supported content.

2. Storage: 128 GB vs 32 GB

Both boxes accept a microSD card, but the Z12 Ultra's 128 GB of internal eMMC leaves room for many more apps and for local recordings before you need external storage. If you record a lot in MYTVOnline 3 or install many apps, the extra space matters.

3. Wi-Fi 6E vs Wi-Fi 6

Both boxes have 2x2 AX radios. The Z12 Ultra adds the 6 GHz band (Wi-Fi 6E), which is far less congested than 5 GHz in apartment buildings, but only if your router supports 6E. On a Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 router the two perform the same, and both have Gigabit Ethernet if you can run a cable.

4. Android 12 vs Android 11

The Z12 Ultra runs Android 12 and the Z11 Pro Max runs Android 11. Both ship with MYTVOnline 3; the newer Android base on the Z12 Ultra gives it a longer runway for app compatibility.

5. The remote

The Z12 Ultra ships with the GTV-BT3, a backlit Bluetooth voice remote. The Z11 Pro Max BT1 Edition ships with the GTV-BT1 Bluetooth voice remote, which is not backlit. Both control your TV's power and volume.

6. Optical audio and IR extension

The Z12 Ultra has an optical S/PDIF output for older soundbars and receivers. The Z11 Pro Max instead has an IR extension port, useful when the box is hidden inside a cabinet with the IR extension cable.

What is the same

  • Same Realtek RTD1319C quad-core processor and Mali-G57 GPU, so menus, app launches and channel changes feel identical.
  • Same 4 GB of RAM.
  • Same 4K at 60 fps decoding with AV1 and H.265 (HEVC).
  • Same Gigabit Ethernet and 12 V / 1 A power adapter.
  • Same MYTVOnline 3 live-TV app with EPG, timeshift, recording and picture-in-picture.
  • Same 2-year manufacturer warranty and free shipping from Formuler.vip in Canada and the USA.

Who should buy the Formuler Z12 Ultra

  • You own a Dolby Vision TV or a Dolby Atmos sound system.
  • You have, or plan to buy, a Wi-Fi 6E router and cannot run Ethernet.
  • You record a lot of programs or install many apps and want 128 GB without a microSD card.
  • You want the backlit BT3 remote and the newest Android base.

Who should buy the Formuler Z11 Pro Max BT1

  • Your TV supports HDR10+ or HLG but not Dolby Vision.
  • You use Ethernet or a Wi-Fi 5/6 router, so Wi-Fi 6E brings nothing.
  • You want the same processor and RAM as the flagship and would rather save about $65 CAD per box.
  • You are a reseller stocking a proven mid-range box; see the Z11 Pro Max BT1 wholesale packs.

Other options to consider

The newer Formuler Z12 Ultra SE keeps Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 6E and the BT3 remote but moves to MYTVOnline 4 with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The Formuler Z12 Pro is the entry point to MYTVOnline 4. Our Formuler model comparison lists all eight current boxes side by side, and the complete Formuler buyer's guide covers everything from remotes to warranty.
